There has been a controversy over the non-implementation of the report prepared by a cabinet sub-committee chaired by Minister Ali Sabry and handed over to the President that the cricket administration should be changed.
It has been weeks since the Chitrasena report which recommended reducing the number of 147 votes in cricket was passed in the Parliament, however, Sports Minister Harin Fernando has not done anything to do it, sources said.
But in the meantime, the sports minister has taken steps to issue a gazette amendment paving the way for the cricket administrators to stay in power for more years.
In a recent interview with international media, Minister Ali Sabry said that the administrative structure of cricket should be revised immediately.
