The police in Jaffna have issued a ban on youth flying kites with the help of ropes since yesterday (18). This decision comes in response to recent incidents where young individuals were seen hanging on kite ropes and flying about 80 feet in the sky.
The ban is imposed due to safety concerns, as these activities pose a risk of accidents and injuries. The police aim to prevent any dangerous conditions and mishaps related to this form of kite-flying. The decision is applicable across all areas in Jaffna.
Flying kites using ropes has gained popularity among the youth, who engage in such activities to showcase their bravery and capture exciting moments. However, the police have taken this preventive measure to avoid accidents and ensure the well-being of the youth.
