Dr. Haritha Aluthge, Secretary of the GMOA, has voiced the organization’s vigilance until decisive action is taken concerning the mastermind mentioned in court regarding the immunoglobulin fraud, who claimed to be part of the cabinet.
Expressing concerns, Dr. Aluthge questions whether addressing the issue solely by bringing officials to justice is sufficient. While acknowledging the arrests of several officers, including the Health Ministry Secretary, a Deputy Director of Health Services, and a Director, Dr. Aluthge asserts that arrests alone do not offer a solution to the problem.
Dr. Aluthge emphasizes that revelations in court and on social media demand a comprehensive resolution, cautioning against merely recording statements and sweeping the matter under the carpet during a time when political authorities are deflecting blame.
He concludes by stressing that all individuals involved in the immunoglobulin fraud should face the maximum possible punishment, regardless of their status. The Government Medical Officers’ Association insists that only such a course of action will serve justice in the country.
