The Supreme Court ruled today (08) that State Minister Mrs. Diana Gamage is not legally qualified to serve as a Member of Parliament.
The Supreme Court announced the verdict after hearing an appeal filed by social activist Oshala Herath that she could not constitutionally hold the post of MP as she has British citizenship.
The decision was given by the three-member Supreme Court bench of Kumuduni Wickramasinghe, Gamini Amarasekara and Janak de Silva.
