The Court of Appeal has issued an order to delay the announcement of the decision regarding the petition filed to revoke State Minister Diana Gamage’s position as a Member of Parliament. The decision is now scheduled to be made on the 31st of October.
This decision was conveyed by the President of the Court of Appeal, Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne, where the three-judge bench of the Appellate Court, including Khema Swarnadhiphi and A. Marikkar, was initially set to announce their ruling.
However, when the case was called today (18), Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne announced the new date for the decision, which is the 31st of this month.
The petition in question was filed by social activist Oshala Herath, who alleges that Diana Gamage holds British citizenship.
