Senior Advisor to the President Lalith Weeratunga says that the Chinese government has agreed to provide 300,000 stocks of Sinopharm vaccine manufactured in China to control the Covid epidemic in Sri Lanka.

He said that although the government is currently focusing on the corona vaccine manufactured in Russia, it will not import any vaccine without the approval of the National Drug Authority.

Weeratunga, Senior Advisor to the President, said that the National Drug Regulatory Authority (NDRA) was conducting tests on vaccines produced in the countries where the vaccines were manufactured, and that their decision would be final.
