Lalith Charminda – A school teacher was arrested yesterday (02) in connection with the incident of assaulting two doctors of Galle at a fuel station of Galle Fort police said. Arrested teacher who works in a popular school in Galle city has been released on police bail last night (02). As the Friday was reserved health sector to get fuel from fuel stations the general public protested against the release of fuel for the doctors and health staff created a heated situation at the premises. . It is stated in the complaint made by the two doctors to the police that the teacher who was there at that time hit the two doctors with a bottle. Along with this attack, the Galle Karapitiya branch of the Government Medical Officers Association also launched a one-day trade union action. In a press conference called yesterday (02) by the Karapitiya branch of the Government Medical Officers Association, its joint secretary Dr. Jinesh Yapa stated that they were satisfied because the police have implemented the law in connection with this incident
