In response to the remand of the director of the Medical Supply Division amid suspicions of fraudulent transactions related to the purchase of the immunoglobulin vaccine, Health Secretary Dr. Palitha Mahipala has appointed Sudath Dharmaratne as the new Acting Deputy Director General and Dr. Dedunu Dias as the Acting Director.
The previous director’s hospitalization resulted from the court’s refusal to prevent his arrest by the deputy director general. The appointments aim to address the vacancy in key positions within the Medical Supply Division.
