The Ministry of Environment has decided to ban another list of disposable and single use plastic and polythene products by next April.
Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that the gazette notification for the 6 types of plastic and polythene products that were recently banned will be issued on January 1.
Accordingly, the use of six types of polythene and plastic products such as sachets, cotton buds and lunch sheets will be banned, the Minister said.
