The number of Covid infections reported from the Southern Province has increased to 874 with the identification of 39 new Covid infected patients in the Southern Province yesterday (27) Chamara Mahagamage, Coordinating Officer, Kovid Operations Office, Southern Province said.
490 corona infected patients have been reported from the Galle district, 309 from the Matara district and 75 from the Hambantota district. The number of Covid infected patients reported from the Galle district yesterday (27) was 23. Matara district reported 12 cases of Covid infection yesterday (27).
419 people have been cured of Covid infection while 264 have been cured from the Galle district, 122 from the Matara district and 33 from the Hambantota district, the Covid Coordinating Officer said.
Mahagamage further stated that 4678 persons belonging to 2317 families are being quarantined in their homes in the Southern Province.
