In the aftermath of Sri Lanka’s recent defeat to India in the World Cup, the Sri Lanka Cricket has decided to initiate an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the loss. According to a senior official of Sri Lanka Cricket, the board is seeking an explanation regarding the basis for team selection in the match and the decision to replace Dhananjaya de Silva with Dushan Hemanta.
The Sri Lanka Cricket has taken the initiative to investigate these matters, as well as the subpar performance exhibited by the Sri Lankan team during the match.
This move follows the controversial defeat in the final of the Asia Cup, where Sri Lanka’s cricket selection committee made drastic changes to players and captains, leading to their withdrawal from the World Cup.
The cricket community is now questioning whether there have been misguided decisions and actions related to Sri Lankan cricket, raising concerns about the stability and future of the sport in the country.
