The Friday Holiday for public servants will be effective from June 24 as a measure to reduce public expenditure and provide an opportunity to engage in farming activities from home. The relevant circulr has been issued today by the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration MMPK Mayadunne.
The Secretary has informed all the Secretaries to the Ministries, Provincial Secretaries and Heads of Departments in the relevant circular that the holiday will be effective for three months from this Friday.
According to this circular, essential services such as health, water, electricity and other essential services that declared as needed on Fridays will be exempted from this holiday.
