The police have uncovered the reasons for the recent fire at the record room at the Akkareipatthu Courts.

As a result, it has been established that the arson was planned and carried out by a close associate of the LTTE’s former eastern leader, a former minister named Karuna Amman alias Vinayagamurthi Mudalidharan.

The Akkareipattu police have also found that the arson attack was engineered by Pushpakumar alias Iniya Parathy.

Iniya Parathi, who also has a national honor, has given the contract to burn the court’s record room in order to destroy documents related to the kidnapping and killing of youths. There are several cases pending before the courts, according to the police.

The police said that he had escaped arrest and is hiding. A special police team has been deployed to arrest the suspect.

Three other suspects involved in the arson were also arrested by the Akkareipatthu police last night (28), and during their questioning, they admitted that Iniya Parathi sent photos to his mobile phone via WhatsApp that clearly show the location of the record room and the places to be destroyed. During the police questioning, the suspects said that they secretly entered and set the building ablaze.
