The discussion held under the chairmanship of the Speaker to appoint three civic representatives to the Constitutional Council ended without reaching an agreement.
The three civilian representatives for the Constitutional Council should be appointed with the agreement of the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.
After many conversations and comments, the meeting was finally adjourned, unable to reach a consensus on the appointment of the three civil representatives.
The Constitutional Council, which was established according to the 21st Constitutional Amendment, has ten members, and it is not possible to appoint new members to independent commissions, including the Election Commission, without also appointing its three civilian representatives.
Due to the failure of today’s discussion, it has impeded the appointment of members to the Election Commission and other independent commissions.
