Former Inspector of Police (IP) seeking asylum in France, Duminda Jayathilake, claimed that Underworld kingpin Kanjipani Imran was merely a braggart and only a hero for cardboard heroes.

Former IP Jayathilake emphasized that he would bring Kanjipani Imran to Sri Lanka alone if given diplomatic permission in writing.

He made this claim while speaking to  Sri Lanka’s radio channel, Neth FM. He had spoken to the radio channel following allegations leveled against him that he was involved in the murder of Club Wasantha.  Also, he was alleged to have close ties with Kanjipani Imran.

Denying all the allegations he insisted that he doesn’t have any connection with Kanjipani Imran. He further denied the claims that he met Imran in France.
