Police last night seized 235 litres of fuel hoarded in the bathroom of the official residence of the Pudukudiirippu Divisional Secretary Mullativu.
On a tip-off from the public, the Pudukudiirippu Police found 120 litres of diesel, 110 litres of petrol and 5 litres of kerosene hidden in the bathroom of the official residence.
The divisional secretary has told the police that this fuel stock belonged to an employee working in the official residence. However, the police charged that only one such employee was in the bungalow.
The police have taken steps to file a case against the divisional secretary in Mullaitivu court.
