Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thero has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the University of Colombo.It is reported that he will be holding the post from November 17.
A few weeks ago, Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thero had summoned the Teachers’ Principals’ Trade Union Abhayaramaya to discuss the protest against the teachers’ salary anomalies.
However, after the meeting, the President had told Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thero that he would be given a new post soon and that it might be the Chancellor of a university.
