There is a shortage of more than 70 essential medicines and 25 surgical materials have been reported in Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital sources said.
A hospital spokesperson stated that it is uncertain to forecast a day when these scarce medicines and surgical materials will be received.
He also said that although specialist doctors are currently treating children by using substitute drugs that can be used, however in some cases, such methods cannot be practiced.
However, he said that although the patient care service has been running for many months depending on the donations received from the donors, today the donations have decreased to one per week or month.
“In the meantime, the shortage of junior staff is acute in the hospital, and although 800 of cadre needed to run the hospital there are only 600 people. Due to the unexpected increase in the number of retiring specialists and the number of doctors migrating since the end of this year, the patient care services at Ridgeway Hospital have gradually become impossible.
