Lady’s body found in a bag identified!

The body of a woman who was found in a bag near the Sapugaskanda oil refinery has been identified by her husband at the Ragama Hospital this morning (05).

The woman was identified as Mohamed Safiq Fatima, 45, a resident of the Maligawatta flats complex and a mother of two.

After identifying the body, her husband said that she had gone to the Bloemendal area from Maligawatte with another woman to meet a woman known to her on the 29th and had been missing ever since.

The woman had visited the house earlier but had not arrived at the house on the day of her disappearance, residents told police. According to this statement, the police have also conducted a security camera check around the house. It was also found that the woman had not come to the house.

The search for the woman who came with the deceased has been started but no definite information has been found about her yet.

Her husband had lodged a complaint with the Bloemendal Police on the 30th regarding the woman’s disappearance.

By the time the body was found, it had deteriorated to an unrecognizable level. Police are conducting further investigations.
