Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Upul Dissanayake has been among the nominees for the post of Chief Ministerial candidate for the Central Province by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
The party leader Sajith Premadasa has stated that it is very appropriate to contest him at the up coming Provincial council elections considering the manner in which he has been the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya for six years and the role he has played .
Accordingly, he will be a candidate for the Central Province in the future.
