The Cabinet has decided to extend the visa free of charge for 3,993 Ukrainian tourists and 11,463 Russian tourists who have stranded and staying in Sri Lanka. The Cabinet of ministers have agreed to extend their visa for another two months without any visa fees.
The Sri Lankan government has taken this decision considering the problems that exist between Russia and Ukraine and their return to their country.
According to the hospitality industry sources, there around 3000 Ukrainina tourists are in the Island for about 2-3 months vacation as they have planned to spend entire Winter season in Sri Lanka.
