Buried boat unearthed with suicide kits in Mullaittivu

Troops have found a boat containing with suicide vests and explosives suspected to have been used by Sea Tigers during the war in Mullaittivu on Monday (28).

The boat was buried on the Mullaitivu beach, a local fisherman saw a part of the boat floating on the sand and informed the Army.

With the permission of the Mullaitivu Magistrate’s Court, the Army , Police Special Task Force (STF) and the Mullaittivu Puthukudiirippu Police arrived at the scene and unearthed the boat.

Mullaittivu security forces believe that suicide LTTE cadres may have buried the boat at this location for use during the war.
