Today (14), a car carrying former Sri Lankan Test cricketer Lahiru Thirimanna and his mother met with an accident in Tirappane, Anuradhapura.
According to the police, the injured Lahiru Thirimanna, his mother, and the driver were rushed to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Reports suggest that the accident occurred when the car, traveling from Kandy to Anuradhapura, collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Authorities suspect that the accident may have been caused by the driver falling asleep while driving.
