Basil Rajapaksa, the national organizer of the Podujana Peramuna, held a meeting with Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, in Colombo, yesterday (14).
During the meeting, the High Commissioner and Basil Rajapaksa discussed various topics including bilateral relations, recent political developments, and other matters of mutual importance, according to a statement from the Indian High Commission.
This meeting comes in the backdrop of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s return to Sri Lanka on March 5th, 2024, following the collapse of his government. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s return is seen as a move to organize the Public United Front for the upcoming elections.
