Dinesh Schaffter’s mobile data to his family will be considered after the analyst report

Colombo Additional Magistrate Mr. Harshana Kekunawala yesterday stated that the court will consider the request of family members of the late Dinesh Schafter the well-known business personality to give private data of his mobile phone after the government analyst report.

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to submit the progress of the investigation into the death of businessman Dinesh Schaffter to the court on July 23.

This complaint was summoned yesterday (14) before the courts.

The Criminal Investigation Department informed the court that further investigations would be conducted about the incident.

The lawyers of the aggrieved party demanded that the mobile phones currently in the custody of the police contain personal information such as photographs of the deceased’s wife and children and that they be allowed to obtain them.

In this regard, the Magistrate also inquired from the Criminal Investigation Department. Following that the Magistrate stated that after receiving the government Analyst’s report related to those phones, he would consider the relevant request.
