DG of Agriculture confident on innovative Nano Nitrogen from India

Dr. Ajantha de Silva, Director General of Agriculture, says that it is certain to bring in a unique liquid fertilizer called Nano Nitrogen, which is manufactured in India to full fill urgent requirement of fertilizer to start Maha Season.

He said that this type of fertilizer produced with nanotechnology and it can be utilized in the surface area thousands of times more than other conventional fertilizers.  The DG of Agriculture also hopeful of giving successful results and can be achieved the desired results in a short period of time due to its high efficiency.

The producing company claims that the nano nitrogen is unique in that it is classified according to the world’s fertilizer classification

The Director General of Agriculture further says that as there is a community of farmers who need to be provided with fertilizer soon, it is planned to airlift a stock for the distribution among farmers of Ampara who have already begun their cultivation  and the rest of the stock of fertilizer will be brought by ship as soon as possible.

He further said that this will provide relief to the farmers who are worried that they will have to withdraw from paddy cultivation due to lack of fertilizer and this will enable them to carry out their cultivation activities properly without any problems.

 

He said that the Department of Agriculture had recently joined hands with Sintech in Sri Lanka to carry out tests on nano nitrogen liquid fertilizers.

 

He also said that successful results have been obtained by using paddy cultivation through the Batalegoda Research Institute.

 

The Director General said that the company, which is currently manufacturing nano nitrogen in India, has obtained a patent in 2019 and will consider whether it is possible to produce nano nitrogen in Sri Lanka with them in the future.

Agronomists conducting research on nano nitrogen liquid fertilizers say that nano nitrogen produced by the company in India is used by farmers in India with urea.

Experts also point out that research has shown that cultivation in India is carried out using 50%
