The Funeral Parlor of Borella, where the remains of slain businessman of Colombo Surendra Wasantha Perea alias Club Wasantha is has received a threatening phone call for the second time from overseas sources said.
According to a complaint received by the Borella Police regarding the threatening call to the parlor for the first time on the 10th, Police took steps to tighten security to the funeral parlor as well as for the surroundings. Meanwhile based on the compliant CID started their investigations regarding the call.
Surendra Wasantha Perera alias Karaoke Wasantha or Club Wasantha was killed on the 08th at Athuruguriya while he was at an opening ceremony of a tattoo shop. His funeral will take place this evening at Borella cemetery. Remains laid in a Borella funeral parlor for public respect and following the religious rituals body was taken to the cemetery. A large number of his relatives and friends attended amidst heavy security.

Addressing the funeral function his son thanked those who were with them in this difficult moment and paid his gratitude to the Police for providing security. He was emotional while he was delivering his speech. Wasantha Perea’s mother also addressed and appreciated his son.

Meanwhile, Police Media spokesman Deputy Inspector General Nihal Thalduwa said that Although certain information has confirmed that slain Wasantha had a close connection with infamous drug dealers, there is no evidence to prove he was an organized criminal. However, Police sources said there were several police complaints against him regarding commercial disputes fraud, and obstructing duties of Police officers.
DIG Thalduwa further said that Police operations are underway to arrest the two gunmen the driver of the car they came.
