Leading nightclub owner Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as Night Club Wasantha, was killed in a shooting incident took place in Oruwala, Athurugiriya this morning.
Meanwhile, famous singer K. Sujeewa and four other individuals were injured. According to the sources Wasantha’s wife also among injured. The incident occurred during a opening function of a Beauty salon held in Athurugiriya.
Two unidentified gunmen, who arrived at the event in a car fired T56 firearms and committed this crime, sources said. The gunmen have fled, and the police are conducting further investigations.
Wasantha was a very famous character on social media and often shared his lavish lifestyle on social media platforms. He also shared a lot of his charity work, such as donations, on social media.
Meanwhile Singer Sujeewa was transferred to Colombo National hospital , and the sources said that her legs were damaged due to the shooting.
