A high power Chinese delegation is expected to arrive in Colombo today. The delegation will be led by Former Chinese Foreign Minister and the current Communist Party Political Bureau Member, Yang Jiechi.
A release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the visit is expected to strengthen cooperation between Sri Lanka and China in the areas of combating the global pandemic and revival of economic relations. The delegation will meet President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Thursday (09).
The delegation’s movements will be restricted to Colombo, and their engagements will be limited to the meeting of the President and Prime Minister according to the protocols imposed by the Ministry of Health.
