Mayor donates first salary for Jaffna Uni war memorial construction

The first salary of the Mayor of Jaffna was donated yesterday (11) for the war memorial to be constructed at the Jaffna University premises.

Accordingly, the Mayor of Jaffna Vishwalingam Maniwannan has donated Rs. 35,462 received as his first salary to the Jaffna University Students’ Union.

The new mayor of Jaffna was elected after the former mayor was defeated in two budget proposals for 2021.
