Ranjan Ramanayake handed four year prison sentence

The Supreme Court today (12) sentenced MP Ranjan Ramanayake to four years of rigorous imprisonment for contempt of court.

The case was taken up today before Supreme Court Justices Sisira de Abrew, Vijith Malalgoda and P.S. Padman Surasena.

The case was filed against former State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake over Contempt of Court charges for making defamatory remarks against the judiciary on August 21, 2017.
