New and heartbreaking details have emerged following a fatal private jet crash in North Carolina that reportedly claimed the lives of NASCAR champion Greg Biffle and members of his family.
According to People magazine, citing an interview published on December 18, Biffle’s wife, Cristina Grossu Biffle, sent a final text message to her mother moments before the crash. Her mother, Cathy Grossu, said the message read: “We’re in trouble.” That was the last communication she received.
“So we’re devastated. We’re brokenhearted,” Grossu told People.
The Associated Press reported that the crash occurred on December 18 in Statesville, North Carolina, and that all seven people on board were killed. The group was travelling in a Cessna C550 business jet that had taken off from Statesville Regional Airport.

Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft reportedly attempted to return to the airport, indicating a possible emergency. The jet crashed while trying to land, authorities said. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been officially confirmed, and an investigation is underway.
