The 2022 IPL auction in Bangalore on Saturday had to stopped as the auctioneer Hugh Edmeades, collapsed on stage. The incident happened when Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga was under the hammer. Suddenly, Edmeades had a fall and everyone present was concerned.
Update from the auction venue is that Edmeades fainted and thankfully there were no internal issues. He is recovering and feeling better after medical assistance, while the auction is set to resume at 3.30pm.
all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday (12) for Indian Rs. 10.75 crores after a closely fought bidding war.

The Sri Lankan pair of Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera, joined RCB for the second part of IPL 2021.

Hasaranga took a hat-trick at last year’s T20 World Cup. He was also the highest wicket-taker with 16 victims in eight matches at 5.20.
