A Notorious drug peddler has been shot dead following a shooting incident in Moratuwa last night, the police said.
The victim has been identified as Thelge Dilan Sameera Pieris, alias “Abba” a 27-year-old said to be a close associate of drug king pin “Kudu Salindu” . The suspect died during an operation conducted by the Special Task Force’s organized crimes and narcotics preventive personnel at the Modara Isurusiri Mawatha area in the Egoda uyana police area in Moratuwa last night.
During the operation, one suspect opened fire at STF When the latter retaliated at the suspect and later found him dead as a result of the gunshot wounds re received, they said.
According to police, the suspect’s body is currently lying at the Panadura Hospital.
