Currently, around 4,000 individuals are undergoing treatment for dengue, and the situation could escalate, potentially leading to an increase in fatalities.
Dr. Samaraweera anticipates a further spike in reported dengue cases in the coming days. Notably, the Colombo District has recorded the highest number of dengue patients.
Among the dengue patients, the age group most affected is between 25 and 49 years, with 49 reported fatalities.
