Two women from Colombo arrested at a brothel in Kopai

Two women and three men were arrested by the Kopai police on December 24 for engaging in prostitution after coming from Colombo despite the corona threat during the Christmas season.


Police raided a brothel in the Ponnalekadduwan area in Jaffna and arrested the suspects on a tip off.

The Jaffna Magistrate has ordered the five suspects to be produced before a court on January 8, 2021. The man who ran the brothel and the two men who had come to seek the services of women and the women have been sent to a quarantine center.
