Today (14) marks World Blood Donor Day.
It is a global initiative dedicated to honouring those who selflessly give the gift of life.
The slogan for the 2023 campaign, is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.”
It emphasizes the vital role of regular donations in maintaining a safe and sustainable supply of blood and its products worldwide.
Since its establishment in 2005, this day has been observed annually, expressing gratitude to donors and raising awareness for voluntary, safe, and non-remunerated contributions that ensure sufficient and secure blood supplies.
