 Three More Arrested in Connection with Ganemulla Sanjeewa’s Murder

Police Have Now Arrested Eight Suspects Linked to the Crime

Police have arrested three more suspects in connection with the murder of criminal suspect Sanjeewa Samararathne, also known as Ganemulla Sanjeewa. This brings the total number of arrests related to the case to eight.

According to the police, the three suspects taken into custody yesterday (22) are residents of Gampaha and Udugampola.

One of the arrested individuals, 22-year-old Damidu Lakshan from Malwatte Road, Gampaha, Asgiriya, was found in possession of the firearm used in the murder. He is accused of supplying the weapon to the shooter a day before the crime.

Additionally, police arrested 25-year-old Damith Anjana Nayanajith and a 19-year-old resident of Asgiriya, Udugampola. They are suspected of aiding and abetting the crime by transporting the shooter and another suspect in a three-wheeler after the murder.
