The Chief Executive Officer of Colombo Fort Krish Mixed Development Project Janaki Siriwardena has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department.
She is alleged to have close connections with Thilini Priyamali, who is currently in remand over a billion worth financial fraud Police sources said.
Janaki Siriwardena, who is also working as the project manager of “The One Project”, a top-tier investment project currently operating in Colombo fort (Opposite the Colombo Hilton) is a woman who has maintained close relations with high-ranking people.
It is said that several investors, including a former governor, Asath Sali, who were caught in this scam, have stated in their statements to the Criminal Investigation Department that they were introduced to Thilini Priyamali by Janaki Siriwardena. They have also stated that she had induced them to make these investments. The Criminal Investigation Department has arranged to call and record the statements.
She is currently in custody, her statements will be recorded and she will also be presented to the court.
