A 37-year-old man, who had invested millions of rupees in a pyramid scheme, was mercilessly beaten to death by an unknown assailant.
According to police reports, the victim had entrusted an amount of 2 million rupees to the suspect for investment in the pyramid scheme. However, when the victim confronted the suspect at their residence to inquire about the invested money, a heated argument ensued between the two.
The situation escalated, and the suspect resorted to using a club to brutally attack and kill the victim. The victim, a Tangalle resident, was rushed to Tangalle Hospital but died due to his injuries shortly after admission.
