A couple who were alleged of committing a murder in the Mount Police area were arrested while fleeing to Dubai, by the Katunayake Airport Police yesterday (30) night.
Two were arrested while trying to board Emirates flight EK-653 departing for Dubai around 8.30 PM last night.
Arrested were Subasingha Siriwardena Nuwan Chinthaka (31) and a 19 year young woman named Anuradha Sewandi Delange.
The Katunayake Airport Immigration Department has been informed by Chief Inspector of Police at the Mt.Lavinia based on an information they received that the two suspects who had were preparing to flee to Dubai. They are suspected of a murder took place on last 27 of July.
The arrested couple was handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police by the Katunayake Airport Police last night.
