Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the two Sri Lankan guards who were on the ship attacked by Houthi terrorists in the Gulf Sea were rescued. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the two of them, who were assigned as security guards of the Bulk carrier Merchant Vessel “True Confidence”, were assigned to save the naval crew during the Tusta missile attack, and one of them was injured.
Two Filipinos and a Vietnamese crew member were killed in a terrorist attack in the Gulf Sea about 50 nautical miles away from the port of Aden while sailing under the flag of Barbados.
The injured Sri Lankan and other crew members were taken to Djibouti from the wrecked ship. .

The relevant authorities in Djibouti facilitate the medical treatment of the injured Sri Lankan and the safe stay of other Sri Lankan crew members. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in Addis Ababa have made arrangements and steps are being taken to bring the Sri Lankans back as soon as possible, the ministry said.
