Actress Sophie Turner and singer Joe Jonas, who announced their “amicable” divorce last month, have resolved their legal dispute and agreed to share custody of their two children. The legal wrangling began when Turner sued Jonas, alleging that he had prevented their daughters from returning to England from the United States.
In a joint statement, the former couple announced that they have successfully mediated their differences, agreeing that their children will divide their time between both the US and the UK in loving homes. They expressed their commitment to being great co-parents.
This statement follows a new legal filing outlining a temporary joint custody arrangement for their three-year-old and one-year-old daughters in the coming months.
Turner had previously filed a legal petition claiming the “wrongful detention” of their children in New York and calling for their return to their “permanent home” in England. She alleged that Jonas had refused to return their passports.
In response, Jonas’s representative emphasized that the children were born in the US and had spent most of their lives there, expressing the belief that the couple would work together to establish an amicable co-parenting arrangement.
Sophie Turner, 27, is best known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones and has also appeared in the drama series The Staircase and the X-Men film franchise.
Joe Jonas, 34, rose to fame as a member of a pop band and a Disney Channel series with his two brothers.
