The Sri Lanka Transport Boards (SLTB) daily revenue has dipped to Rs. 18 Million due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Prior to this the SLTB was reporting a daily revenue of Rs. 78 Million.
However the Minister of Transport Gamini Lokuge said the SLTB will continue to provide transport in rural areas as well as other public services including Sisuseriya.
The government has also provided a number of relief measures for private bus owners. According to Lokuge the decision was taken as the industry has been hit hard by the pandemic and considering the service rendered by the private busses to the public as well.
