The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D Wickramaratne has prohibited the administering of non-scientific treatment to Police officers who have tested positive for Covid 19 according to reports.
Inhaling steam and other chemotherapeutic agents belong to the non-scientific treatment category.
The Acting IGP has warned that disciplinary action will be taken against the responsible officers if the Covid 19 situation within the Police worsens due to the promotion of such treatments. Currently over 600 police officers have tested positive for Covid while over 1400 are in quarantine.
