Three parliamentary members of the SLPP have agreed to sacrifice their parliamentary seats in order to give the opportunity for Mr Basil Rajapaksa , who is to be sworn in as a Member of Parliament next month, a reliable source told Lankasara.
National list parliamentarians, Mohamed Fall Marjan, Jayantha Weerasinghe and Jayantha Ketagoda have agreed to this sources further said.
A senior minister revealed that the government is currently in talks to do justice to the resigning MP.
He also revealed that Basil Rajapaksa is currently under quarantine following his arrival from the United States and will be given a leading ministerial post. The Minister further stated that although it is planned to give the resigning Member of Parliament an embassy post in a European country, Jayantha Weerasinghe is one of the members who is eligible for such a diplomatic post.
