Asela Sampath, the civil activist and National Organizer of the All Ceylon Canteen Owners’ Association has been taken into custody by the CID.
It is reported that he was arrested by the CID following a complaint received regarding a remark made by Asela Sampath regarding the AstraZeneca vaccine a few days ago.
Meanwhile, his daughter has released a video on social media this afternoon saying that a group of about 20 people in civilian clothes had come to the house and abducted her father. When inquired about this by Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana, he stated that he has been arrested by the CID.
