The main opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJP) parliamentary group has decided to declare a week of protests demanding the immediate resignation of the government led by the President and Prime Minister, which has failed to find a solution to the country’s current crisis. The week of protest will be started from tomorrow (20).
A group of parliamentarians led by the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa met yesterday (18) to discuss the situation in the country at length and to declare protest week from tomorrow.
The group has decided that the country’s problems have escalated over the years and that neither the President, nor the Prime Minister, nor the government have been able to resolve any of these issues.
The group of parliamentarians are of the view that such a failed administration will not benefit the people at all and that the country will be plunged into the abyss day by day.
