Jaffna International Airport will resumes it’s operations from July 1st, Ports and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said.
He was speaking after inspecting the Jaffna International Airport during his visit to Jaffna.
Accordingly, the Jaffna International Airport will commence operations from July 1, enabling flights from India and other countries to arrive at the Jaffna Airport, the Minister said.
On several previous occasions, Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda had emphasized the need for the country to easily access Indian aid by opening the Jaffna International Airport soon.
Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda, Co-Chairman of the Jaffna Development Committee Angajan Ramanathan, Head of the Airport and former Governor of the Northern Province GA Chandrasiri were also present during the visit.
