Member of Parliament Dr Mrs Seetha Arambepola is ready to offer her parliamentary seat to former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, if he re-enters politics internal sources of Podujana Peramuna said.
Mrs. Arambepola, who is a specialist doctor, came to the Parliament as a member of Viathmaga and also held the position of state minister.
A group of the party has forwarded a proposal to bring the former president Gotabhaya Rajapaksa back to politics. This group has presented plans to return the former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to the Parliament and then giving him the post of Prime Minister.
But insider sources say that the Rajapaksa family group and the majority of SLPP have opposed Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s return to politics.
